The police in Ogun State have arrested three men allegedly found with two human skulls.
A statement by the spokesman for the police in the state, which was obtained by Newsmakers, says the three men were arrested in Ayetoro town.
According to the spokesman, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, policemen on regular patrol accosted two of the suspects on a motorcycle and stopped them for questioning.
They were later found to be in possession of two human skulls after a routine search of the bag they had with them.
The suspects, Sabiu Popoola and Aliu Ajiroba, told policemen they procured the skulls from one Jimoh Ijiola in the same town.
After his arrest, Ijiola confessed to his involvement in the crime, but claimed that he and two accomplices got the skulls from an undisclosed location in the neighbouring Benin Republic.
He also said they intended to use the skulls for money ritual.
Oyeyemi said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, the state capital, for further investigation.
