The Police have arrested two additional suspects linked to the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu.

The arrests were made following directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to intensify efforts in tracking down the remaining culprits involved in the high-profile case.

The suspects, identified as Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30, were apprehended early this morning, while attempting to flee Lagos State.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspects confessed to being part of a four-man gang involved in the kidnapping.

Recovered from the suspects were N2.25 million, believed to be part of the ransom, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.

Newsmakerslive.org reports that the other two members of the gang had previously been neutralised during an operation.

IGP Egbetokun lauded the Lagos State CP Special Squad for their diligence and bravery in bringing the suspects to justice. He reiterated the Force’s unwavering commitment to ensuring public safety, stating:

“The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in its mission to combat crime and foster peace across the nation. This arrest underscores our determination to reduce crime to its barest minimum.”

The Force urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities.
