The Zambian government said it has completed the construction of modern housing estates across the country for the police.
Zambian president, Edgar Lungu, disclosed in a message he shared on his verified Twitter handle, @EdgarCLungu, today.
Lungu said aside houses, the government has also provided the police with facilities which would ease their operational challenges and enhance professionalism among the rank and file.
The message reads: “My Government has made significant improvements to the welfare of our men and women in uniform. This includes new Police facilities and houses built across the country to ease operational challenges that officers go through.
“Let me assure our men and women in uniform of Government’s commitment to supporting the Zambia Police Service in its quest to create “a smart and value centred Police service” capable of enforcing the law for a secure and peaceful environment in Zambia.
“I call on the Zambia Police to maintain high levels of discipline anchored on the core values of integrity, accountability, impartiality, transparency, human dignity and patriotism. The Zambia Police must meet the aspirations of the Zambian people by exercising professionalism.”
