There was a massive turnout on Tuesday as Peter Obi led a series of early morning campaign activities across several Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the upcoming council polls, boosting the African Democratic Congress campaign at the grassroots.

The ADC’s leading presidential aspirant began the day at about 6.30am, setting out from his office in the Abuja Municipal Area Council to engage residents directly in what his campaign described as a people focused outreach.

Large crowds gathered at various stops as Obi walked through communities, interacting with locals and listening to their concerns.

His first stop was Abaji Area Council, where he campaigned alongside Dr Mohammed Ibrahim, the ADC chairmanship candidate.

Obi spent about an hour walking through the area, drawing enthusiastic responses from residents who turned out in significant numbers to receive him.

From Abaji, Obi moved to Kwali Area Council to support Hon. Jeremiah Badoji, the ADC chairmanship candidate.

Again, he walked through the community, speaking with residents and traders, while emphasising that effective leadership must be accessible and grounded in the daily realities of the people.

The campaign trail continued to Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council, where Obi canvassed support for Pharmacist Iko Danjuma, the ADC chairmanship candidate.

Crowds were also visible at Deidei Market, where Obi met traders and residents while campaigning for Dr Moses Paul, the ADC chairmanship candidate for AMAC.

Throughout the engagements, Obi reiterated his commitment to inclusive development and grassroots driven leadership, stressing that governance should prioritise the welfare and aspirations of ordinary citizens.

Supporters at the various locations described the turnout as a strong signal of growing interest in the ADC ahead of the FCT council elections.
