Photos: Large Crowd at NIMC Office in Ikeja for NIN Registration

Matilda Omonaiye/

A large number of people converged on the office of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State, this morning to obtain their national identity number (NIN).

The development followed the announcement by the federal government that all mobile sim cards not linked with the NIN would be disconnected from the network by December 31.

Online pictures show total disregard for COVID-19 protocols among the crowd despite recent concerns about a second wave of the infection.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the situation is same at other NIN registration centres across the state.
