Police have rescued the driver and passengers of an unnamed inter-state commercial bus who were stranded on the third mainland bridge in Lagos this morning.

The driver of the Toyota Hummer, which was enroute one of the south eastern states, had suddenly fell ill behind the wheels and was forced to park the vehicle in the middle of the bridge.

The vehicle which had started causing traffic gridlock on the bridge was later intercepted by men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) who were on routine patrol of the area.
