Another feather has been added to the crowded cap of the retired commissioner of police (CP) Olayinka Balogun who bagged a doctorate degree from University of Ibadan (UI) today.
Balogun, a celebrated reformer of the police institution in his years of service, was considered worthy of a PhD in Law and Community Policing after he successfully defended his thesis titled: Legal Institutional Challenges and Prospects of Community Policing in Nigeria.
Before his present status, Balogun possessed a Bachelor of Law degree, MA in Peace and Conflicts Studies (UI), and he had received the psc, fsi, and FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) honours among several others.
Besides his towering accomplishments as a crime fighter, Balogun made a mark with unprecedented reforms and infrastructural developments when he was the helmsman at the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba; the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Lagos; Ekiti State Police Command and Edo State Police Command.
He had served as a Special Adviser on Security to Ogun State governor and he is presently a member of the Board of Police Service Commission (PSC).
