The Ogun State Police Command has reportedly launched a manhunt for another suspect in the murder of a couple, Kehinde and Oluwabukunola Fatinoye, and their son, Oreoluwa Fatinoye, who were assassinated in the early hours of New Year’s Day in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The alleged suspect, who is yet to be officially declared wanted by the police, has been identified as Lekan Ahmed Adekambi.
NewsmakersNG reports that the spokesperson for the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, had earlier confirmed the arrest of an unidentified suspect in the murder.
“The incident happened after 12 in the morning. It is true that a couple was killed and set ablaze at their residence in Abeokuta, shortly after they returned from Crossover Service.
“This is a clear case of assassination and we are not leaving any stone unturned to unravel those behind the killings. One person has been arrested by our operatives in connection to the incident. We will get to the root of the matter, as investigation has since begun,” Oyeyemi said.
Kehinde and Oluwabukunola were murdered early Sunday morning at their Government Reservation Area residence, Ibara, Abeokuta after returning from a crossover service. Their killers also set their corpses ablaze and abducted their son and housemaid.
The remains of the couple’s son were later recovered from the Ogun River in Abeokuta, where it was dumped by the assailants.
Kehinde Fatinoye was a former employee of the Central Bank of Nigeria and his wife was a former employee of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
The remains of Kehinde and Oluwabukunola Fatinoye were laid to rest on Monday.

No one is asking questions about the housemaid whose corpse is yet to be discovered.
Where is she alive or dead? This is important.
