A picture of the wife and crying children of alleged kidnap kingpin kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, used to demonstrate education’s cry for help at the Federal Executive Council Retreat On Education has left Nigerians stunned.
The photo, which is already attracting knocks on social media, was first used by a national daily (name withheld) to illustrate a story about a purported telephone interview with Evans’ wife, Uchenna Precious Onwuamadike, shortly after the family fled to Ghana, following the billionaire kidnapper’s arrest.
Following overwhelming public outcry over the story and other similar attempts to buy public sympathy for the notorious kidnapper’s family, the photo disappeared from the public space until its reemergence today at the State House, Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari gave an address at the special retreat held in the Banquet Hall of the state house.
It was declared open by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and attended by members of the Federal Executive Council and other functionaries.
