A viral video from Starville School in Jahi, Abuja, has drawn widespread attention after it captured a confrontation between parents and a teacher during a meeting in the school’s administrative office.
The video shows the parents arriving at the school to complain that their child had been slapped by the teacher. The teacher is seen being invited into the office to explain what happened.
In the clip, he tells the parents and school officials that he reacted after the pupil allegedly pushed him twice. He then apologises for slapping the child.
Moments later the meeting escalates. The visibly agitated parents stand up and begin slapping the teacher repeatedly.
The video also shows the child’s mother attempting to stop someone from recording the scene as the confrontation unfolds.
The footage, which has been widely shared on social media, does not show the events that led to the alleged slap or what happened before the meeting.
