Oyo Records Rise in Daily Infections as COVID-19 Cases Surpass 33,000

Oyo State recorded a sharp rise in new COVID-19 infections yesterday with 141 confirmed cases, according to figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The state recorded 20 new COVID-19 infections on Sunday.

The centre also said a total of 595 new infections were recorded in the country, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 33,153.

COVID-19 related fatalities have also increased to 744, including four recorded yesterday.

A total of 13,671 people have however recovered from the disease.
