Barely 24 hours after announcing the decision to jettison his governorship ambition in favour of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former Oyo State governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, played host to Ekiti State governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, at his Ibadan residence on Saturday.
Details of the meeting have not been made public but photos of the visit have been shared on social media.
Akala, who was the candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADP), said in a statement on Friday he had decided to support the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, in the March 9 elections.
The announcement followed a meeting between Akala and APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Thursday in Lagos.
