The Olota of Ota, Oba Prof. Adeyemi Obalanlege (Lanlege EkunII, Arole Iganmode-Ogunfunminire), has announced human and vehicular restriction on August 31, 2019, due to the town’s annual Egungun festival.
According to a press statement from the palace, signed by Prince Adeyemi S. Olusesi, “There will be restriction of human/vehicular movement in and around Ota between 11 pm to 4 am as the powerful ‘Iya Agan’ would be in town to pray for the progress of the kingdom and its dwellers. “This event will officially signal the commencement of the 2019 Egungun festival with the unique voice of the ‘Iya Agan’ that will be heard across the city of Otta and its environs with heavy ‘traditional vibration’.
“We hereby urge all and sundry to take note of this date ahead of time to avoid the consequence of encountering the powerful spirit and the Omo Eriwo’s.”
