Vice President Yemi Osinbajo tweeted for the first time this evening after his account was reportedly suspended.
The account however remains unverified by Twitter.
The account became unresponsive on Friday evening amidst claims by the VP’s aides that it was due to an “unsuccessful external attempt to hack” into it.
There were however contrary reports that the account was suspended by Twitter over rules violations by its handler.
Apart from Osinbajo’s latest tweets which contained his Sallah message, the only other post on his timeline was a retweet of a tweet by N-Power on August 3.
The account however retained its 2.1 million followers.
The VP tweets read: “Barka Da Sallah to all our Muslim compatriots. As the commemoration of this important festival-Eid Al-Adha- goes on, we are reminded of the virtues of unity that underpin our nation, even as we share in the joy and the fellowship of the celebrations.
“Our prayer is that in this nation, peace will reign and together Nigeria will prosper and progress in our time.”
Several people have responded to VP’s latest tweets by welcoming him back to Twitter.
