A road accident claimed three lives yesterday along the Ilisan/Ago Iwoye road, including two students from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), says the police in Ogun.
According to Ogun State police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, the accident involved a commercial Opel Safira that lost control while speeding and subsequently veered off the road, plunging into a nearby bush.
She said, “A male passenger, believed to be an OOU student, died instantly at the scene.
Two female students, Dada Oluwanifesimi, an 18-year-old Mass Communication sophomore, and Miracle Ogo Oluwa Daniel, a 19-year-old junior, were rushed to the Love and Care Hospital but sadly succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
“Two other OOU students sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention at the OOU Medical Centre on the Mini Campus.
“The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the incident and is investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal accident. The recovered vehicle is currently being kept at the police station.”
