In the warm embrace of a Sunday congregation, tears mingled with smiles as members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Way-to-Life, Ottawa, said goodbye to one of their own.
Evangelist Olatunde Ogunleye, affectionately called Ola-Glorious, is leaving for British Columbia, and the bittersweet occasion has left the church community reflecting on the impact of one remarkable man.
Since 2019, Evangelist Ogunleye has been a vibrant part of the CAC family. Known for his boundless energy, inspiring faith, and compassionate heart, he quickly became a beloved figure.
“Olatunde doesn’t just serve – he anticipates needs and acts,” Senior Pastor Adebowale Adeoye said during his emotional announcement of the relocation. “He has been a gift to this church.”
Ogunleye’s ministry is a story of connection and care. Whether offering prayers to the broken-hearted or rallying volunteers for church programs, he found ways to uplift others, often going beyond the call of duty.
“He made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued,” said one church member. “It’s hard to imagine Sundays without him.”
But Evangelist Ogunleye is much more than his work. Those who know him speak of his infectious optimism and talent for uniting people. Nicknamed Ola-Glorious for his radiant personality, he has a knack for spreading joy while staying rooted in his mission of service.
His departure is a moment of mixed emotions for the congregation. While the church is thrilled about the new opportunities awaiting him in British Columbia, the community feels a deep sense of loss.
“We know he’ll do amazing things, but it’s hard to say goodbye,” Pastor Adeoye admitted, his voice trembling with emotion.
As Evangelist Ogunleye prepares to leave, he carries with him the prayers and love of a church family that will always hold him dear.
“Farewells are never easy, but this isn’t goodbye forever,” said another member. “He’ll always be part of us, no matter where he goes.”
For Ola-Glorious, the journey continues – one of faith, love, and a mission to touch more lives. As he steps into this new chapter, the echo of his work in Ottawa remains a source of inspiration for those he leaves behind.
