Three suspected vandals tampering with MTN mast at Ode Remo area of Ogun State have been held by the police.
The state police spokesman, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, identified the suspects as: 38-year-old Balogun Lukman, a resident of House Number 3 K&S Street, Ikotun Lagos, Sunday Kayode, 39, a resident of Isheri Compound Lagos and Atanda Abiodun living at 25 Egbeda/Akowonjo Road, Bakery bus-stop in Lagos.
Oyeyemi said they were arrested on April 27, by policemen from Ishara Division who were on patrol, led by the DPO CSP Yusuf Taiwo.
He said: “The suspects who came in a blue coloured Ford bus with Reg. No OYO NRK 842 XA were sighted at the Mast around 02:00am with the vandalized parts of the mast, which includes three heavy duty batteries and small cutters. On sighting the policemen, they all took to their heelS, but were pursued and arrested by the policemen while two amongst them escaped.
“The Commissioner of Police (CP) Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered a full scale investigation into the case with a view of arresting the escaped suspects and charging them to court as soon as possible.”
