Three suspects have been held by the police in Ogun for vandalizing the telecommunication mast of MTN in Atan Ota area of the state.
The suspects were identified as Kehinde Yahaya, 36; Akeem Adetona, 36, and Taofeek Olalere, 36.
According to the state police spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects were arrested following a distress call made to the Divisional Police Officer at Atan Ota Division, SP Abiodun Salau, at about 12 midnight by the vigilante men at Onigbongbo Phase II, that some thieves were seen by the MTN mast and they were carting away 12 solar power panels valued at about N14million.
On the strength of the distress call, the DPO led his patrolmen to the scene where three of the suspected hoodlums were arrested while others escaped into the nearby bush.
Officers recovered from them the 12 solar panels, as well as their operational Danfo bus, marked LND 10 XE.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police (CP) Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to FSARS for discreet investigation. The CP equally ordered a manhunt to bring fleeing members of the gang to justice.
