The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed reports suggesting that a victim connected to an alleged incident in Ogijo was arrested, clarifying that the individual was instead taken for urgent medical attention and remains under care.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Command explained that the victim initially reported at the Ibafo Divisional Headquarters on Wednesday, informing officers that the incident occurred within the Ogijo jurisdiction.

According to the police, officers immediately prioritised her welfare by arranging a medical assessment before transferring her to the Ogijo Division, where the matter is being investigated.

“At Ogijo, it was confirmed that she was not in a stable condition to provide further details. She was immediately taken for a comprehensive medical check-up, and her health is being closely monitored,” the statement said.

The Command stressed that contrary to circulating claims, the victim was never arrested at any point during the process.

Police authorities further assured residents that the matter is being handled professionally while urging the public to rely on official sources before sharing information.

The Command reiterated its commitment to the protection of victims and responsible handling of sensitive cases, warning that misinformation could hinder investigations and cause unnecessary public anxiety.
