Policemen in Ogun have held a teacher who allegedly defiled two minors in the state.

According to the police, the 33-year-old teacher, Akinsoku Love Olomi, who resides in Baba Esther area of Iyesi-Ota in Ado-Odo was arrested on January 4, following a complaint by one Mrs Jenifer Mustapha, the mother of one of the victims, who reported at Onipanu Division that the suspect who is a neighbour teaching in a nearby private school saw her 6-year-old daughter and her 7-year-old friend playing on the school premises and called them into one of the classrooms.

Mrs Mustapha told the police that Olomi subsequently sent one of the children on an errand to buy biscuit and before she returned he had had carnal knowledge of the other girl with him.

Ogun State police spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, gave further details in a statement: “He then sent the one he had already defiled to go and buy another biscuit and he used that opportunity to defile the second one as well. On getting home, the mother of one of the victims noticed the change in her daughter’s countenance which made her question the girl. Upon the questioning, she revealed that it was Uncle Love as he is fondly called that tampered with her private part.

“Upon the report, the DPO Onipanu Division, SP Soganbiyi Johnson led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested. On interrogation, he admitted having carnal knowledge of one of the girls, but he claimed that he only fingered the second one. The two victims have been taken to the hospital for medical examination.”

Meanwhile, the Ogun State commissioner of police (CP) Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labor Unit of the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for proper Investigation and prosecution.
