Governor Nyesom Wike’s announcement of N20million donation to each of the two policemen recently killed in Oyigbo, Rivers State, has received thunderous applause from officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The police officers were killed in Oyigbo when members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) launched an attack. One of them a sergeant from a mobile police squadron was butchered and his head decapitated before the body was set ablaze.

“I believe he’s the only governor so far who’s standing with the NPF in our trying time,” an officer who was close to one of the victims told NewsmakersNG.
