Police authorities have withdrawn the invitation to Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, in connection with the Offa bank robberies.
This was revealed by Saraki in a tweet today.
Instead, the police asked the senate president to respond to the allegations leveled against him in writing.
Saraki had tweeted: “Following my earlier tweet, I have received the letter from @PoliceNG. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours — which I plan to do.”
Earlier today, the senate president had tweeted that he was already preparing to honour the invitation by the police.
His earlier tweet read: “I have just informed my ADC to get the letter of invitation from @PoliceNG in respect of the allegations raised yesterday — so that I can immediately honour the alleged invitation.”
