No fewer than 400 Nigerian musical artists across the country are expected to light-up the inauguration of the Music Promoters Association of Nigeria (MUPAN) on October 27, in Lagos.
According to a statement from MUPAN, the inauguration of the Lagos State chapter will hold at Genesis Hotels, Ogba, Ikeja, in Lagos on October 27, starting from 12 noon.
The ace Fuji crooner Alhaji Kollington Ayinla and Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma will lead other fuji musicians to the venue while Chief Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi will lead Juju, and Small Doctor will be at the forefront of upcoming artist. Other artists from Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria (GOMA), Nigerian Association of Juju Musician (AJUM), Islamic Singers Association of Nigeria, Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), Indigenous Musician Association of Nigeria among others and the umbrella body of the music industry Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN) have all confirmed attendance and performance.
Also expected are yester-years music promoters in the state, Musical and Instruments Hiring Association of Nigeria, Freelance Independent Broadcasting Association of Nigeria, Movie Producers Association of Nigeria, Music Advertisers Association of Nigeria etc.
The statement signed by the association’s secretary, Mr Abiodun Awogbemi, says invited dignitaries include Captains of music industry, hoteliers, top media executives and other distinguished Nigerians.
Awogbemi stated that at this year’s inauguration, upcoming artists and outstanding musicians and individuals especially music lovers will be in attendance to enjoy the musician as well as listen to some up-coming artist with new creativity.
“The event, apart from entertaining the mind is expected to be a forum for discovering new creative artists as well as meet and network with experienced music promoters,” he stated.
He added: “The National body of the Music Promoters Association of Nigeria (MUPAN), comprising of all music promoters in Nigeria will be inaugurating its Lagos State Chapter and the executives during the occasion.”
