The fire reportedly broke out in the house, situated at the Ita-Eko area of the town, around 9.30pm yesterday.
The fire, which started from a wing of the house, was reportedly caused by a power surge.
NewsmakersNG learnt that residents of the area and domestic workers in the house made frantic efforts to put out the fire.
The fire was eventually put out by personnel of the state fire service before it could spread to the main building.
