Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo took shots at police chiefs today and left their event in anger, after he was kept waiting.
Obasanjo stormed out of the event attended by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos after he was kept waiting for about an hour.
He was the Special Guest of Honour at the maiden biannual special training and capacity building event organised by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone II, Mr Kayode Aderanti.
The event that was billed for 10:30 a.m. did not start until about 11:52 a.m.
Expressing his anger at the delay, Obasanjo said, “Next time; before you call me, please be ready.”
He also expressed displeasure about former IGP, Alhaji Musiliu Smith, who was to give a lecture at the event.
He said: “Police must be aware and in touch with new developments in other parts of the globe. I can see my former IGP Musiliu Smith.
“Smith is completely out of date to give lecture on police duty. He has experience to share with you, but not on modern way of doing things. I don’t even know how digital you (Smith) are.”
AIG Aderanti, however, apologised for the delay.

Time is money in all we do. The main problem we have in our nation today reflects in the organisation of an event where a former president was kept waiting for over an hour, that simply says it all.
