The National Union of Okitipupa Local Government Students (NUOLGS) has congratulated Commissioner of Police Olubode Ojajuni on his appointment as Secretary to the Steering Committee on the establishment of State Police in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by its National President, Prince Adeoye Omoleminu, the union described the appointment as a recognition of Ojajuni’s professionalism, integrity, and long-standing dedication to national service.
The group noted that the appointment, approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, reflects confidence in Ojajuni’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s security architecture.
According to NUOLGS, Ojajuni’s experience and commitment to national development would be invaluable to the work of the committee, particularly as the country explores new approaches to strengthening internal security through the proposed state policing framework.
“His wealth of experience, integrity, and commitment to national development will greatly contribute to the success of this crucial national assignment, particularly at this pivotal time in Nigeria’s security architecture reform,” the statement said.
The union further expressed optimism that Ojajuni’s role in the steering committee would help shape policies capable of improving community-based policing and enhancing security across the country.
NUOLGS also prayed for wisdom, strength, and success for the senior police officer as he undertakes the national assignment.
The statement was jointly signed by NUOLGS National President Prince Adeoye Omoleminu and the National General Secretary, Senator Gbodi Iyanu Oluwaseun, while the announcement was coordinated by the union’s National Public Relations Officer, Sen. Adegeye John Oluwafemi (FemColy).
