The Management of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta has endorsed the online newspaper, Penpushing Online, as a credible source of authentic news globally.
The management also stated that the emergence of Penpushing has been changing the belief that online newspapers are prone to misinformation.
The General Manager of the Station, Funmi Wakama made this known when the Editorial Board of Penpushing led by its Chairman, Funke Fadugba paid a courtesy visit to the management of the station, at the Ogbe headquarters in Abeokuta.
Both the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and Penpushing Online Newspapers are into partnership which is aimed at improving journalism practice as it affects the world.
Wakama who is a member of the WhatsApp group, an arm of Penpushing, which parades 256 membership across the globe, including notable personalities like Governors, former governors, Ministers, Ambassadors and professionals in various fields, said Penpushing had come to stay.
She said: “Penpushing is one of the best and dependable online newspapers one can rely on in getting authentic news globally, and that is one of the major reason why we go into partnership with the organization, and no regret over this.”
Wakama also spoke about the turn around of the NTA station under her leadership with the genuine support of the management team, adding that within the last eight months of the administration, the management had improved the station tremendously.
“We have revived the station; we are now on Star Time channel 103. We have surpassed our 2018 target, with the proactive nature of the management. We have also introduced in house training and retraining of our staff,” she said.
In her remarks, the Chairman Editorial Board of Penpushing, Funke Fadugba said, the organization was established to publish the truth, ‘and as purveyor of information, we must be able to propagate truth. That’s what Penpushing stands for.
Fadugba, a veteran journalist, and two-time Chairperson of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council said the management appreciated partnering with Nigeria Television Authority(NTA), with focus to jointly change and turn around journalism for the better.
She commended Wakama for her leadership quality with the support of the management team, which has now rebranded the station and brought it to limelight among other television stations across the country.
