The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has kicked off its celebration of World Customer Service Week, with this year’s theme, “Above and Beyond,” highlighting its commitment to employee safety and timely compensation.

The event, which runs from October 7th to 11th, began with an opening ceremony at NSITF’s regional office on Ring Road, Ibadan, at 9:00 a.m. on Monday.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Toyin Violet Emeordi, the Regional Manager for NSITF Ibadan, discussed the organization’s ongoing reforms in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

Emphasizing the fund’s dedication to safeguarding employees and addressing claims swiftly, Emeordi noted that the NSITF is exceeding expectations for employers by ensuring that employee compensation is both prompt and adequate.

“NSITF has moved above and beyond the expectations of our employers to safeguard employees at the workplace and swiftly attend to their claims,” said Emeordi. “Our continuous efforts to meet the needs of both employers and employees are renewed once again. We wish our employers a very happy Customer Service Week as we continue to go above and beyond in our services.”

Emeordi also highlighted a recent management retreat in Lagos where testimonials from beneficiaries of the fund were presented. These stories, lauded by the Senate and the House Committee on Labor, Employment, and Productivity, to underscored NSITF’s positive impact on workplace safety and employee welfare.

The event continued with a sensitization activity outside the NSITF office on Ring Road, where staff distributed flyers about the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS). The ECS program provides essential support to employees who suffer workplace injuries or illnesses, reinforcing NSITF’s commitment to workplace safety.

The week-long celebration will include a special seminar on Thursday, coinciding with the World Day for Mental Health. Mr. Gbenga Oso, Regional Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), explained that this seminar would emphasize the importance of mental well-being in the workplace. Dr. Afolabi Oyeyemi, a consultant psychiatrist from University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, is expected to address employees on how prioritizing mental health can enhance job satisfaction and overall productivity.

Through these activities, NSITF aims to underscore its dedication to employee welfare and safety, setting a standard of going “above and beyond” for both employers and employees.
