NOVA Bank has announced the appointment of Dr. David Isiavwe as Executive Director, Operations and Information Technology, and Mrs. Chinwe Iloghalu as Executive Director, Institutional and Commercial Banking.
These strategic additions come as the bank advances its transition to a national commercial bank and further strengthens its leadership team.
Dr. Isiavwe brings over 30 years of extensive experience in both domestic and international banking. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and the Compliance Institute of Nigeria (FCIN). He also holds several professional certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), among others.
Dr. Isiavwe has completed executive programs at Harvard Business School, MIT, and Oxford University. Currently, he serves as President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Information Security Society of Africa, Nigeria (ISSAN), and is a Governing Council member of the Fintech Association of Nigeria. His appointment emphasizes NOVA’s focus on digital transformation, with his expertise expected to drive the bank’s technology-enabled phygital model, blending digital and physical banking services.
Mrs. Iloghalu, a seasoned banking professional with nearly 30 years of experience, assumes her role as Executive Director of Institutional and Commercial Banking, a key business division of NOVA. Her career spans expertise in corporate and commercial banking, with a focus on sectors like energy, and she has consistently delivered sustainable value to stakeholders.
Holding an MSc in Media and Communications as well as an MBA, Mrs. Iloghalu is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration (FICA). She has also participated in executive leadership programs at Said Business School, Oxford, Harvard Business School, and Wharton. Her role will be pivotal in driving NOVA’s commercial banking expansion across critical business segments.

Mr. Oduoza further noted that these appointments will diversify the board and promote inclusivity within the bank’s leadership.
