Nigeria’s first female Vice-Chancellor, Grace Alele-Williams, has died.
She was 89.
Alele-Williams gained prominence after she was appointed the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin in 1985.
A distinguished Emeritus Professor of Mathematics, she was also the first Nigerian woman to get a Ph.D.
