As Brazil becomes a leading country in Coronavirus infection with over 30,000 deaths and 515,000 cases, concerned Nigerians living in the Latin American country have launched a COVID-19 Support initiative to rescue kinsmen that are victims of the pandemic.
The initiative aimed at helping the families of Nigerians in Brazil is the brainchild of a group known as Nigerians in Diaspora Organization of the Americas (NIDOA), Brazil chapter, supported by the Nigerian Community in Brazil, Egbe Omo Oodua in Brazil, African Cultural Center and other 15 Nigerian communities there.
Tagged NIGERBRAZ COVID -19 AID, the group has responded to the basic needs of the Nigerians going through difficult situations at this moment of world distress caused by the Coronavírus.
According to the group, the aid is to ensure steady medical supports, financial assistance, foods and moral supports to Nigerians that are really in need.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Nigerian medical practitioners in Brazil have all contributed immensely towards the betterment of every Nigerian living in Brazil.
Among them are: Dr Yusuf Bamidele Adesina, Dr Emmanuel Oluwatoyin, Dr Lawrence Ifidon, Prof. Joshua Imoniana, HRH. Adekunle Aderounmu, Mr. Innocent Ukayirioha, Mr. Kayode Bamidele, Mr. Anthony P Albert, Capt. Alex Theophilus, Hon. Chika Emmanuel, Mr. Uche C. Uzoigwe, Ethan Nicholas Aigbokhan, and Prince. James Imuetinyanosa Osunde.
The group called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to do its best “towards the betterment of every Nigerian in diaspora at this difficult moment the world is passing through”.
