Nigerian Woman Kills Lover in India, Another Falls to Death During Police Raid

Segun Atanda/
A 28-year-old Nigerian has been arrested in India for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death, just as another fell to death from the terrace of his home during a raid by the police.
Local media reported that Elvie Uzama knifed the victim, identified simply as Izu, on Saturday, during a fight at her house in southwest Delhi.
The 30-year-old victim ran an export business in Uttam Nagar, while the girlfriend manages a supermarket.
The victim reportedly died on the way to the hospital, following which the girlfriend was arrested and the kitchen knife she used was recovered.
She reportedly told the police she stabbed him on the neck after he assaulted her.
A police preliminary report said the couple had been living in India for three years. The report added: “We haven’t been able to ascertain why they had the fight. But further investigation is underway.”
Meanwhile, members of an Indian anti-terror unit are facing probe over the death of Cyprian Ama Ogbonnaya, who fell to his death during a raid on his residence in Chhatarpur by the police, on Friday.
While falling, Ogbonnaya first hit an AC unit in the floor below his own, before hitting his head against the concrete road.
The probe will ascertain the reason for the raid by the elite unit. It is suspected that the raid was poorly planned.
Two unnamed Nigerians, who live in the apartment where the AC was installed, have been arrested and questioned by a judge as part of the probe.
Reports in the local media said only an undisclosed quantity of a medicine, ketamine, was recovered from the residence.
A special team probing the incident and a team from the Nigerian Embassy have visited the scene of the incident to gather first hand information on the incident, reports further revealed.
