Activities commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ilesa Branch, will commence Thursday with the annual conference tagged ‘Engineering Week’ in Ilesa, Osun State.
According to a statement signed by the Branch Chairman, Engr. Mojirade Oloruntoba, NSE disclosed that the highpoint of the week-long celebration will be the 2nd Distinguished Lecture and Award Ceremony on October 18, 2018.
The lecture with the theme “Industrialisation as a Tool for National Development: Roles and Benefits for Engineers” will be delivered by Engr. Dideolu Falobi, the Managing Director, Kresta Laurel Limited.
“The lecture will, therefore, aim to contribute to the discourse on the nation’s march towards Industrialisation. The President, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Adekunle Mokuolu will be the Chairman at the occasion,” Oloruntoba stated.
The statement pointed out that outstanding individuals and corporate bodies who have contributed to the Engineering profession among whom are Mr Lateef Bakare, a Director with First Bank; Engr. Oluyemi Oguntominiyi, Director of Highways Construction and Rehabilitation, Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, and Engr. Benjamin Olamijulo of Accord Engineering Limited will also be honoured at the event.
The Ilesa Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers was inaugurated in 1993.
