A Nigerian American, Toyin Tofade, has broken a 141-year-old record by becoming the first African American woman President of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in the US.

Prior to her latest appointment, Tofade has received numerous awards, including the American Society of Health System Pharmacists.

She was also winner of the 2022 Board of Directors’ Donald E. Francke Medal which honors pharmacists who have made significant international contributions to advance pharmacy practice.
