Deacon Peter Adeogun killed after winning money lottery in South Africa.

A South-Africa-based Nigerian deacon has been stabbed to death for winning a money lottery in Johannesburg.

The victim identified as Peter Adeogun had lived in South Africa for over 15 years.

According to reports, he had gone to claim the sum of 1.5 million South African Rands (N50 million) of the lottery he played and won.

On arrival at the center where he was to receive the payment, the officers responsible requested more documents which he quickly returned home to bring.

When he got home, he reportedly met three South African men who grabbed and stabbed him to death.

According to the South African Police, he was killed by agents of the money lottery who wouldn’t want to pay him.

The police warned that many people have lost their lives in this way. They urged Lotto players to always inform them of their winnings for adequate protection.

NewsmakersNG learned that Deacon Peter will be buried in South Africa. He left his family in Nigeria.
