A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha-Jet has reportedly lost contact with radar in Borno State, while on interdiction mission in support of ground troops.

This was contained in statement released on Twitter by NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.

The statement adds that a search effort is ongoing.

The statement reads, “A NAF aircraft on routine mission in support of own troops at one of the Theatres of Operation in the Northern part of Nigeria has lost radar contact. Efforts are currently ongoing to locate its whereabout. Details to follow.”
