The Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) has officially launched its Ogun State Chapter with the inauguration of pioneer executives in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The inauguration was approved by the NYO national leadership under Comrade Okorie Okorie, with formal letters issued from the Abuja national secretariat to authenticate the appointments. Copies of the approval were also forwarded to key stakeholders including Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Department of State Services (DSS), the State Commissioner of Police, and the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to the national body, the executives were appointed on merit, in recognition of their contributions to youth development and their vast experience in addressing issues affecting Nigerian youths. They are expected to align their operations with the NYO constitution, the policies of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, and the Ogun State Ministry of Youths.
The national president’s directive emphasized inclusivity, charging the new executives to give priority to women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in their programmes. They were also urged to actively seek support needed to carry out their mandate effectively.
