The daily confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria rose again today after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 681 new infections.

The 663 cases recorded on Tuesday was the highest daily figure before today. The country however recorded five coronavirus-related deaths, compared to yesterday’s 17.

Also, Lagos State which is the epicentre of the disease, recorded a significant increase in the number of new infections with 345 cases.

The country now has a total of 14,554 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 4,494 recoveries and 387 fatalities.
