Thousands of volunteers reportedly gathered Monday at the main stadium in Niger to sign up for the militia that would face ECOWAS’ forces led by Nigeria as war drums are getting louder.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the formation of the militia “Volunteers to protect the Niger” began in the country yesterday at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché.
ECOWAS leaders have threatened to invade Niger if the coupists who overthrew the democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum refused to reinstall him.
