The Niger State Commissioner for Investment and Private Sector Development, Hon. Aminu Suleman Takuma, has condemned the gruesome attack carried out by bandits at Kasuwan Daji Market in Borgu Local Government Area of the state, describing it as a serious threat to peace, unity, and investment.

The attack, which reportedly claimed the lives of several innocent citizens, was described by the Commissioner as senseless, cowardly, and a direct assault on the state’s economic stability.

In a press statement issued on Monday in Minna through the Ministry’s Chief Information Officer, Malam Ismaila Musa, Hon. Takuma extended his condolences to the Governor, Dr. Mohammed Umaru Bago, the Niger State Government, and the people of Borgu Local Government Area, particularly families who lost loved ones in the incident.

“This senseless act of violence is an attack on our collective peace and unity,” the Commissioner said.
He commended Governor Bago for his proactive leadership and unwavering commitment to tackling insecurity across the state, stressing that security remains a critical factor in attracting investment and driving sustainable economic growth.

Hon. Takuma noted that no meaningful development can thrive in an atmosphere of fear, adding that the safety of lives and property remains fundamental to private sector confidence and economic progress.
He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to swiftly track down and bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to justice, while also strengthening security measures to prevent future occurrences.

The Commissioner further reassured the government and people of Niger State of his Ministry’s continued collaboration and support in the collective fight against terrorism, insurgency, and all forms of criminality.

“Together, we shall overcome these challenges and restore lasting peace and security to our dear state,” he said.

He prayed that Almighty Allah should grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed and give their families the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
