New Sheriff in Town: CRAN Hails CP Tunji Disu’s Appointment as FCT Police Boss

The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has hailed the redeployment of Commissioner of Police (CP) Tunji Disu, from the Rivers State Command to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command in Abuja.

According to CRAN in a statement signed by its President, Olalekan Olabulo, the strategic move by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is aimed at optimizing the resources of the Nigeria Police Force and capitalizing on CP Disu’s notable professional acumen.

CRAN stated: “With CP Disu’s prior experience in Abuja as Commander of the Intelligence Response Team, his familiarity with the region is expected to enhance security efforts across the FCT. His exemplary record as the former Chairman of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos further underscores his capability to combat crime in his new jurisdiction effectively.”

CRAN commended the Inspector-General’s foresight in deploying Disu, highlighting his adept handling of complex security issues, notably during his tenure in Rivers State amidst heightened political tensions.

Under his leadership as CP in Rivers, the command was lauded for its professionalism, neutrality, and proactive approach to maintaining order and peace.

CRAN expressed optimism that CP Disu’s operational expertise will bolster security in the FCT, underscoring the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property. As a seasoned officer with extensive experience, Disu’s appointment is seen as a promising step toward enhancing the safety of residents and reinforcing law and order in the capital.

The association applauded the Inspector-General’s commitment to effective resource allocation and security improvement, viewing CP Disu’s redeployment as both timely and well-deserved. CRAN conveyed confidence in Disu’s capabilities and looks forward to witnessing the positive impact of his leadership on the FCT’s security landscape.

CRAN extends its best wishes to CP Disu and assures him of its unwavering support as he undertakes this crucial role in ensuring a secure and peaceful FCT.
