In a lengthy post on X, businessman and politician, Senator Ned Nwoko, shared troubling claims regarding his wife, Regina Daniels’ alleged struggles with substance use, suggesting that some friends and family may have complicated her path to recovery.

He described repeated incidents where friends and family allegedly entered his home uninvited, sometimes forcibly, and disrupted the recovery environment.

In particular, he wrote that certain individuals were repeatedly defying medical instructions: “Unfortunately, Sammy, Destiny, some of their siblings, together with a few of their friends, notably Sonia Uche Montana among others, constantly defied those instructions. They would come into the house uninvited, sometimes forcing their way in, and would bring her the same drugs she was being treated for. Instead of helping her recover, they encouraged her addiction and completely frustrated the efforts of the doctors and therapists working with her.”

Nwoko also appeared to reference friends more broadly in Regina Daniels’ circle, including individuals widely recognised for their close association with her, such as Nollywood actress, Uche Nwaefuna, popularly known as Uche Montana.

While the post does not directly assign blame, it implies that certain friendships may have undermined the rehabilitation process.

“Whenever Regina started her rehabilitation, there was a clear instruction by the doctors to strictly restrict people, especially her enablers, from having access to her,” Nwoko wrote.

He recounted confrontations involving Regina’s brother, Sammy, and others, who he said resisted security personnel and interfered with her therapy. “One of the audacious incidents involved Sammy coming to my house shouting and demanding that I come downstairs to face him,” Nwoko added.

The post also details how Nwoko claims that family and friends themselves were involved in using the same substances as Regina and allegedly introduced them to her.

“Lawrence and Sammy were the ones who first introduced and supplied these drugs to her. They were deeply involved themselves, and rather than helping her get better, they kept drawing her back into the same destructive lifestyle,” he stated.

Nwoko emphasised the financial and personal support he provided to her family, including funding her brother’s education, furnishing apartments, and transferring N125 million to Regina’s mother over the past two years.

“This is someone I sponsored through his last two years at the University of Ekpoma. I bought his musical instruments, rented and furnished a flat for him in Abuja, in addition to the house I bought for Regina in Asaba before our marriage for the use of all of them. I also routinely provided allowances to all members of the family, including her mother, Rita Daniel. Indeed, in the last two years, I have a record of transferring N125 million to her alone.”

He also recounted instances when Regina allegedly absconded from his home overnight, attributing some of these outings to influence from her social circle and the “celebrity lifestyle.”

While his post heavily hints at the role of certain friends in frustrating the recovery process, it carefully frames them as part of a broader environment rather than directly accusing any individual.

The X post concluded with Nwoko stressing the need for professional intervention for Regina’s brother, Sammy, who he described as increasingly violent and self-destructive. “What he needs now is total rehabilitation and professional guidance; otherwise, his aggression and self-destructive tendencies will only worsen,” he wrote.
