N1.5bn Fraud: Appeal Court Acquits ex-NIMASA DG, Omotseye

The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal, on Thursday, discharged and acquitted former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr. Raymond Omotseye, of fraud charges for which he had earlier been convicted.

Omotseye was sentenced to five years imprisonment by Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of a Lagos Federal High Court, last year.

Omatseye was charged before Ajumogobia by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for contract splitting and bid rigging to the tune of about N1.5 billion.
