The Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development (MWID) has launched its maiden edition of the “Walk for Life” exercise, a bi-weekly initiative designed to promote health and wellness among its workforce.
Organized under the leadership of the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Lolade Aina, the initiative underscores her commitment to fostering a healthy, productive, and dedicated workforce, according to a statement issued by Mrs. M.A. Ileyemi, the Director, Public Affairs at the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development.
Speaking at the kickoff point, Mrs. Aina highlighted the significance of physical and mental well-being in achieving improved service delivery within the ministry.
“Our health is the foundation of our performance. This exercise not only boosts our physical fitness but also fosters stronger bonds among our staff,” she said.
The event saw active participation from staff at all levels, including Directors, officers, and other employees, showcasing MWID’s dedication to creating a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Mrs. Ileyemi stated that the “Walk for Life” program is set to continue as a bi-weekly event, further aligning with the ministry’s vision of nurturing a vibrant and high-performing workforce.
