Elon Musk has announced that Twitter will no longer be free for some categories of users.
The world’s richest man, who recently purchased the social media platform for $44 billion, disclosed this in a tweet today.
Musk has been using his Twitter account to intimate his 89 million followers of the likely changes he might introduce to the platform.
According to him, some of those that could start paying in order to continue using the platform include commercial and government users.
He added that Twitter will however remain free for casual users.
“Twitter will always be free for casual users, but maybe a slight cost for commercial/government users,” Musk tweeted.
