In a dramatic turn of events following the explosion outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has claimed that the Cybertruck involved played a crucial role in reducing the impact of the blast.
In a post on X, Musk stated, “The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken.”
The incident, suspected to be an act of terrorism, occurred on New Year’s Day, resulting in the death of the truck’s driver and injuries to several bystanders.
Investigators have confirmed that the explosion originated from explosives placed in the Cybertruck’s bed, but the vehicle’s robust design appeared to have prevented further destruction.
Musk’s comments suggest that the Cybertruck’s reinforced exoskeleton and unique design absorbed and redirected the blast force, sparing the hotel lobby and potentially saving lives.
While authorities continue to investigate the motives and individuals behind the attack, Musk’s remarks have sparked widespread discussion about the unintended safety advantages of Tesla’s futuristic vehicle.
Local authorities have praised the Cybertruck’s performance, with one investigator noting, “If this had been a conventional vehicle, the impact could have been far worse.”
