Musa Kimo Resumes as Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police

Mr Musa Kimo has assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom.

He succeeded Bassey Abang, who was redeployed from the state, the command’s  Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Odiko Macdon, said in Uyo on Friday.

“The Akwa Ibom State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris,  has approved the posting of a new Commissioner of Police to Akwa Ibom State Police Command.

“He is CP Musa Kimo. The new CP takes over from CP John Bassey Abang.

“The new Police boss holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Political Science from the University of Sokoto,” Macdon stated.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the official statement from the PPRO announcing Kimo’s assumption of duty has laid to rest rumours that three commissioners were posted to the state within one week.

The former commissioner Abang was accused of political partisanship over the election of a new speaker of the State House of Assembly.
