Buhari had earlier, according to his schedule, called on Oba Rilwanu Osualale Akiolu of Lagos, before moving to the Lagos State government house, Marina, for a closed-door meeting with several groups, including  senior party officials, state party members, stakeholders, security chiefs, captains of industries, senior civil servants, top brass in blue-chip companies, the Pan Yoruba cultural group, Afenifere, members of the Hausa community and the Igbo socio-cultural group, Oha’neze Ndigbo, before heading for Teslim Balogun stadium to address a mammoth crowd of party supporters.

In his first address yesterday, Mu’azu assured Lagosians of their safety before, during and after elections, even as he vowed to vigorously fight crimes and criminalities with the utmost professionalism.

Buhari, in his campaign, promised to reposition Lagos as a befitting mega city and strengthen it as the economic nerve-centre of the nation.

This, he noted, would fast track the much-needed development of the country.

He promised to fast track the city to become a cosmopolitan city, assuring of a promising economic prospect, based on massive infrastructural and economic development if re-elected.

He also pledged to further strengthen the naira and fight corruption with all it takes.

Buhari said that those who looted the commonwealth would face the full wrath of the law.
