The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has warned motorists and commuters of a traffic gridlock on Lekki Expressway inward Alfred Rewane road due to a faulty truck on Falomo bridge.
The agency gave the traffic advisory in a post on it’s Twitter handle, @followlastma.
It said the backlog of traffic has extended beyond Civic Centre about two hours ago.
The tweet reads: “[6:50pm] #lastmareports
B/D loaded truck with rear tyre problem on Falomo bridge INW Alfred Rewane. Owners making effort, backlog beyond Civic centre on ozumba mbadiwe. @followlastma officers on ground to manage situation.”
LASTMA said the situation was compounded by a commuter bus which had broken down earlier on the same road.
“[6:52pm] #lastmareports
Another impediment on the Ramp bridge INW Falomo with front tyre pulled out. Recovery efforts ongoing,” it said in an earlier tweet.
