Motorists Groan as Petrol Tanker Falls on Otedola Bridge

A fully loaded petrol tanker has been involved in an accident on the notorious Otedola Bridge, Berger, Lagos.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the truck, which was travelling outward Lagos, fell on its side after the driver lost control as a result of brake failure.

The development has further complicated the already messy traffic situation in the axis, with trapped motorists waiting for hours on the road.

It was learnt that security and emergency officials are currently managing the traffic jam and also on ground to supervise the transfer of the content of the fallen truck into another.

Tweets by @rrslagos767 advised motorists to avoid the route for now.

“Trans-loading of the fallen fuel tanker at BERGER, outward lagos in progress .A corridor has been opened for vehicles to pass, the traffic should start easing . If you can, avoid this route now, please,” one of the tweets read.
